Getting to Manila

Looking for a cheap return airline flight to Manila?

Please be aware that you want to fly into Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport as certain budget flights in Asia like Air Asia and Tiger Air fly in to the “Manila-Clark Airport (DMIA)” which is actually about 90 kms from Manila. A bus ride from Clark to Manila would take at least 2 hours.

Here are two options for finding cheap return airfares from your nearest airport to Manila.

There is a website called SkyScanner at:

http://au.skyscanner.com/

or you can download the free SkyScanner application for your Iphone, IPad or IPod through ITunes at:

http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/skyscanner-all-flights-everywhere/id415458524?mt=8&affId=921504

Some examples of approximate prices on SkyScanner for a return airfare to Manila (at 17 July 2011) from a number of key airports in the region are:

Bangkok – Manila                US$ 300
Colombo – Manila                US$ 650
Darwin – Manila                   US$ 590
Goa – Manila                      US$ 900
Guam – Manila                    US$ 480
Guanzhou – Manila              US$ 270
Hanoi – Manila                     US$ 450
Hong Kong                          US$ 120
Honolulu – Manila                 US$ 810
Jakarta – Manila                   US$ 250
Melbourne – Manila              US$ 930
Phnom Phen – Manila          US$ 650
Tokyo – Manila                    US$ 840

These change from one day to the next and may not pick up on some flights and some special offers by certain airlines but it is a very good place to start.

Another option is travel.com which has been offering cheap flights to Manila (@ 15 August):

Good luck getting a cheap airfare and we hope to see you in Manila.
