The Inaugural Asian Academy for Heritage Management (AAHM) Asia-Pacific regional conference on Underwater Cultural Heritage was held at the National Museum of the Philippines in the city of Manila, the capital city of the Philippines.
Manilla is situated on the east coast of Luzon, the most northerly island, also the largest and the most developed. The city was founded in 1571 on the site of a Muslim settlement. Its major tourist attraction is the old Spanish walled city, known as Intramuros, which contains some historic buildings and ruins.
The Conference organisers are hoping to organise a walking tour of the historic precinct of Intramuros on Saturday 12 Nov.
